Banana Bread Bars

The Sweet Combination of Banana and Chocolate

Nothing will ever beat the combination of banana and chocolate. These bars are one of my favorite recipes to make. I love how simple and quick it is.

This recipe is also mainly sweetened with bananas. If you want it completely refined sugar free you can take out the chocolate chips. It would taste super delicious if you added walnuts, cinnamon, or literally anything you want.

The best types of recipes in my opinion are the ones where you can just throw everything into a bowl. It all comes together super quickly. You also don’t have to worry about all the dirty dishes. You could also use a blender for this recipe and add all the ingredients in.

This recipe calls for vegan butter. Any vegan butter will work. If you aren’t vegan you could use traditional butter. Liquid oil will also work. If you want the recipe to be oil and butter free you could try applesauce.

As bananas are the main ingredient used to sweeten this recipe make sure they are ripe! The browner the banana the better.

TIP: if your bananas aren’t ripe enough for banana bread you can put them in the oven to ripen up. Set your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and just watch them. Once they turn brown/black colored they are done. They will come out perfectly sweet and ripe.

You can use chocolate chips or chop up your favorite chocolate bar. Personally, I like to do a mix of both. Combining different chocolates always tastes super delicious.

I haven’t tested any other flours. However, if you are looking to use another flour, I would go with almond flour.

Coconut sugar and maple syrup are my favorite sweeteners to use in this recipe. It keeps the recipe from being overly sweet. These two sweeteners are also refined sugar free if that is a concern of yours! You could substitute the maple syrup for any liquid sweetener such as honey or agave. The coconut sugar can also be substituted for any granulated sugar such as monk fruit.
