Ingredients:

  • Applesauce

  • Oil

  • Maple syrup

  • Lemon juice

  • Baking powder

  • Baking soda

  • All-purpose flour

  • Powdered sugar

Recipe:

  • 1 cup applesauce

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2-4 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Mix the wet ingredients in a large bowl: combine applesauce, oil, maple syrup, and lemon juice until smooth.

Add the dry ingredients: Stir in baking powder, baking soda, and flour. Mix just until combined — do not overmix.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. The edges should be golden.

Cool completely before glazing. This ensures the glaze sets properly.

Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice until you reach a thick but pourable consistency. Drizzle or spread over cooled blondies.

Let the glaze set, then slice and enjoy!

Be sure to store the blondies in the refrigerator or freezer. The blondies should last up to 5 days in the refrigerator. You can also store these in the freezer. It should last for up to a month.
